Garth A. Rosengren practice focuses on commercial and business litigation, with an emphasis on disputes involving intellectual property issues in the new media space. He has represented individuals and corporations in litigating patent, trade secret, copyright, and trademark disputes as well as anti-trust, unfair practices, fraud, and breach of contract matters.
Garth has also defended products liability and other personal injury actions on behalf of the firm's clients - including an international automobile manufacturer and a global provider of temperature control components, systems, and services.
Garth has experience representing clients in all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation due diligence through verdict. In addition, he has experience assisting clients in a variety of transactional matters, including negotiating and preparing license agreements for a variety of patents and other intellectual property in a variety of fields, and advising clients with respect to contractual and regulatory compliance.

- Represented international biotechnology company in patent infringement action and subsequent cross-licensing negotiations regarding DNA-polymerase enzymatic "cutting" and electrophoresis technology as well as clone libraries.
- Represented individual inventors in connection with patent-infringement action regarding information technology patents as applied to mobile devices.
- Represented independent video game developer in fraud and breach of contract action stemming from a platform game "engine" licensing agreement, and defended against consequent counterclaims for copyright infringement and misappropriation of trade secrets.
- Represented creator of digital products sold in the online, virtual world "Second Life" in defamation, tortious interference, and unfair practices action against competitor. Obtained TRO and preliminary injunction preventing the "take down" of the client's products from Second Life despite its competitor's fraudulent DMCA notices.
- Defended international designer and manufacturer of nanotechnology, material science, and surface analysis instruments against breach of contract allegations and pursued counter-claims for trademark infringement and cyber-squatting.
- Represented on-line affiliate advertising company in breach of contract action regarding domain name usage. Obtained defense verdict for client and an award of over $2 million in attorneys' fees.
- Represented San Francisco private school in negligent supervision action. Case resulted in a defense verdict for client.
- Represented sugar refinery in trade secret misappropriation action regarding designs for industrial equipment.
- Represented life science company in bringing antitrust and unfair practices litigation against international producer and marketer of food, agricultural, and industrial products and services.
- Represented nationwide class of school districts against manufacturer of reprographic equipment in anti-trust action for abuse of monopoly power and unlawful tying in violation of the Sherman Act.
