Matt T. Peters is a civil litigator with experience spanning a broad range of practice areas, including complex commercial litigation and arbitration, intellectual property, products liability, class action defense, commercial real estate litigation, and the defense of civil lawsuits initiated under the California False Claims Act.

Before joining KKSRR as an associate in September 2009, Matt worked in the San Francisco office of Reed Smith LLP . Matt graduated magna cum laude from the University of San Francisco School of Law in December 2007, where he was a member of the McAuliffe Honor Society and served as the Executive Director of the School's Moot Court Program from 2006-2007.

Following are examples of matters Matt has handled.


  • Presently representing manufacturer of conveyor belt technology in patent infringement action.

  • Presently representing consumer products manufacturer in action alleging false patent marking.

  • Presently representing video game developer in litigation involving breach of licensing agreement, alleged trade secret misappropriation, and alleged copyright infringement.

  • Represented computer software company in arbitration over scope of indemnity obligations for patent infringement action. Arbitration required analysis of patent reexamination proceedings and substantive issues implicated in underlying infringement matter.

  • Represented multiple banks in litigation alleging conversion of intellectual property rights. Obtained dismissal with prejudice at the pleading stage, and dismissal was upheld on appeal.
